plexus no. 8
In grad school I came across Gabriel Dawe's work while searching for fiber artists and was really impressed. Then viola, a year later he does an installation in St. Louis. That NEVER happens.
What photos cannot capture is the perception and spatial play that occurs as you move around the work. It literally took my breath away watching the lines appear to vibrate and move space as I walked into the room. It reads somewhat flat at first and then you realize the interior recedes. Incredible union between work and site.
Bravo Mr. Dawe and The Luminary

After months of debating I finally broke down and bought a pneumatic nail gun. 2 gallons. 120 volts

Last month's Sloup was hosted by Flowers to the People, a gorgeous flower boutique on Cherokee, with a delicious black bean soup and yummy rum from the Stable. After proposals were submitted and read, bellies full, votes cast, the winning proposal was announced and... I WON!! yay yayaay. Below you can read my proposal for the upcoming project/event...
thank you soso much sloup voters for your love and support! And to the always wonderful and lovely Amelia and Maggie- sloup founders/creative mind extraordinaires!
